Columbia Crest Two Vines Shiraz 2004
The Two Vines Shiraz features New World-style ripe, jammy fruitiness blended from varieties traditional in the Rhone Valley. Black cherry and white pepper aromatics are also pronounced on the palate along with hints of boysenberry and raspberry. The lingering finish is pleasingly supple. Wine Enthusiast A good effort, with plenty of snap and sizzle for an eight dollar wine. You get juicy berry fruit, some clean spice and suggestions of white pepper, fine acids and decent length. It says Shiraz but it’s less of an Aussie style and more of a snappy, acid-driven Washington take. Score: 87. —Paul Gregutt, May 01, 2007.Wine Spectator Soft, open-textured and appealing for its pure blackberry and cherry fruit, finishing with a meaty note. Drink now through 2009. 100,000 cases made. Score: 86. —Harvey Steiman, March 31, 2007. |
