Mauro Molino
Just down the hill from the Revello brothers’ estate, Mauro Molino’s winery sits only about 100 meters from the noble “Conca” vineyard of the Annunziata. Mauro first bottled in 1985, and makes just a few hundred cases a year of cru Barolo, now assisted by his son Matteo. The structured, aromatic “Gancia”, is from limestone-rich soils right next to the Bricco Luciani, and the intense, exceptional “Conca” from Molino’s small holdings in that cru. Parker describes Molino’s Barolo as a “delicious, tasty fruit bomb. These are often massive wines that have the potential to last over 20 years.”
