Bodega Vina Bajoz Gran Bajoz Viñas Viejas 2001
Dark purple with cherry & blue tones. On the nose, red & black berry fruit (cherries, blackberries, mulberries), blended with exotic spices & toast. On the palate it is full-bodied yet soft, with a velvety texture and rip tannins. A perfect balance of fruit and delicate French oak with hints of sweet, spicy American oak. Long, long elegant finish. Wine Spectator This red shows good concentration, with a thick mouthfeel and muscular tannins, and tobacco, chocolate and earth notes that overshadow cherry and raisin fruit. A big wine that needs time to come into focus. Best after 2006. Score: 88. —Thomas Matthews, November 15, 2005. |
