Wine EnthusiastHere's an oak-driven Brunello that needs time to evolve. Give it five years or more. Glimmers of bright fruit emerge despite the presence of toasted almond, cedar wood and vanilla extract. The wine shows dark concentration with soft tannins and a lovely rich feel in the mouth. Age 5-10 years.
James SucklingRich aromas of ripe dark berries and light vanilla. Full body, with soft and velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Balanced and delicious. Drink now or hold.
Wine AdvocateThe 2007 Brunello di Montalcino shows lovely richness and depth in its sweet red cherries, licorice, new leather, spices and tobacco. Here, too, the oak comes across as dominant given the wine's medium-bodied structure. The 2007 is nevertheless an appealing wine, but it is best enjoyed over the near and mid-term. A soft, caressing finish rounds things out nicely. The 2007 spent 36 months in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024.
Wine SpectatorAn elegant red, with a supple texture matched to cherry, strawberry and leather notes. Stays focused and firm through the mineral finish. Drink now through 2021. 2,700 cases made.
