Graffito Malbec 2014
Wine AdvocateA joint venture between winemaker Jimena López and US importers Vine Connections, the Graffito 2014 Malbec blends grapes from three vineyards, an old plot in Agrelo and two younger ones in Los Árboles and Vista Flores in the Valle de Uco. It fermented with selected yeasts and 70% of the wine was put in barrel for 13 months while the rest was kept in stainless steel to preserve freshness. There's quite a strong imprint from the élevage, there are quite a lot of roasted and smoky aromas. The palate is soft and approachable, with round, fleshy tannins and some lactic flavors in the finish. 18,000 bottles produced.
Wine EnthusiastSpicy, rubbery aromas of plum and berry fruits feature a coating of heavy oak. This is tannic and narrow on the palate, while burnt, herbal berry flavors finish rooty and with rubbery tannic grab.
