Our interpretation of the vintage allowed extra time for the crop to ripen evenly, and the result is a flamboyant, rich Pinot Noir, which is in contrast to the more Burgundian-styled 2009 Kashaya. Look for aromas of dark cherry, cassis, root spice, vanilla and underbrush leading to a fat mid-palate that is balanced by just the right amount of acidity. The tannins are ultra-fine and elevate the long, elegant finish.

Give this Pinot Noir some time to breathe and mellow in a decanter. Right out of the bottle, it's tough, tannic and jammy in raspberry and cherry flavors. But it doesn't take long for it to pick up some complexities. This wine's rich, sweet oakiness will pair well with steaks, lamb chops and mushroom risottos.
