Sineann Yates Conwill Pinot Noir 2012
|Region||United States, Oregon, Yamhill County|
Wine EnthusiastYates Conwill is next to the Resonance vineyard, which was just sold to Burgundy's Louis Jadot. This vineyard is really reaching its prime, showing lovely ripe flavors of raspberry, red plum and sweet cherry. Generous acidity keeps the wine in proportion and leads through a generous midpalate with highlights of black tea and dried herb. Drink now and over the next 10 years.
Wine SpectatorSmooth and round, pulsing with coffee and mineral accents around a core of blackberry and currant flavors, coming together harmoniously on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 700 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2012 Pinot Noir Yates Conwill Vineyard is deeper in color than the 2013. It has a much plusher bouquet with black cherries, blueberry and iodine scents that lie in stark contrast to the more reserved and perhaps more rustic 2012. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black cherry fruit laced with blueberry. It feels a little pinched toward the finish, with a jarring bitter note that detracts from its focus.
