Mauro Molino Barolo Vigna Gancia 2005
|Region||Italy, Piedmont, Barolo|
Wine AdvocateThe 2005 Barolo Vigna Gancia is another sweet, layered wine, with plenty of macerated cherries, plums, herbs, menthol and spices. This is a more detailed Barolo than the overt, fruit-driven Gallinotto, and it lacks some of that wine's sheer ripeness and depth. Elements of greenness lurk in the background. 2010-2020.
Wine SpectatorDisplays pure Nebbiolo fruit character, with ripe strawberry and rose aromas. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins. There's pretty chocolate and berry fruit in the aftertaste. Best after 2011. 350 cases made.
