Mendel Lunta Malbec 2012
|Region||Argentina, Mendoza, Lujan de Cuyo|
Wine AdvocateThe 2012 Lunta Malbec is a blend from old Malbec vineyards in Mayor Drummond in Lujan de Cuyo and La Consulta (Altamira and La Beatriz) at the Uco Valley. Fifty percent to sixty percent of the wine aged for one year in used French oak barrels that give a smoky character to the wine. The rest matured in stainless steel. It is a fresh and fruity varietal Malbec with blueberries and violet notes, a lactic hint, licorice and some sweet vanilla aromas. Pleasant and easy to drink, with polished sweet tannins and integrated acidity, it is a very good entry-level Malbec. Drink now-2018.
Wine SpectatorThis has a floral aroma, delivering dense, ripe plum and red berry flavors and plenty of mocha notes. Offers an inky finish, with peppery accents. Drink now. 2,200 cases imported.
