Domaine Georges Roumier Morey Saint Denis Clos de la Bussière 2013
|Region||France, Burgundy, Cote de Nuits|
|Brand||Domaine Georges Roumier|
Wine SpectatorDense and muscular, with black cherry, plum and earth flavors complemented by fine tannins. Tightens up on the finish, but the saturated aftertaste of dark fruit and spice builds to a crescendo. Best from 2019 through 2032. 120 cases imported.
BurghoundIn contrast to the Chambolle villages this was quite firmly reduced and aromatically unreadable. There is however good punch and intensity to the tautly muscular and solidly well-concentrated flavors that are notably more structured though there is less rusticity present than usual. As is often the case with this wine it will require close to a decade to reach its full potential. 89-92
Wine AdvocateThe 2013 Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de la Bussiere has a taut, well-defined bouquet with light oyster-shell scents emerging in the glass. The palate is crisp and fresh with a chalky, almost brittle texture, noticeable acidity and a tart and pointed finish. This seems just a little disjointed at the moment, so hopefully it will meld together during the remainder of its maturation period.
