Castel Boglione Barbaresco 2012
Similar to its more famous sibling Barolo, Barbaresco is made from 100% Nebbiolo and shares its cult status as one of the finest wines in Italy and the world. Due to a slight maritime influence, which allows grapes to ripen a little earlier, barbaresco is known to show a softer, more feminine side of Nebbiolo, with softer tannins that make it more approachable when young. Castel Boglione is a traditionally-made Barbaresco that shows a light garnet color and offers classic notes of roses, tobacco and sweet spices. Dry on the palate with red fruit notes, good minerality and well-balanced tannins. Good body and long finish. Best enjoyed with meat based dishes, braiosed beef, game, wild duck and turkey, risotto with porcini mushrooms and aged cheeses.

Wine EnthusiastStraightforward and accessible, this has delicate aromas of red berry and kitchen spice. The firm, no-frills palate offers dried cherry, tart cranberry, sage and clove alongside solid tannins. Enjoy through 2019.
