Carpineto Chianti Classico 2017
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Chianti Classico|
Though fleshy and evoking black cherry and black currant flavors, this offers components of earth, tar and stiff, dry tannins as a counterpoint. A bit more rangy than its peers, yet should develop well with time. Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Best from 2021 through 2032. 35,000 cases made, 9,500 cases imported.
The Carpineto 2017 Chianti Classico shows modern and contemporary lines with plenty of ripe fruit, black cherry, plum, spice and even a touch of bitter chocolate. The wine is softly textured but crisp, with just the right level of fruity succulence to pair with your favorite burger and toppings. It's hard to beat this terrific value deal. Some 300,000 bottles were made.
The 2017 Chianti Classico is another tasty, entry-level red from Carpineto. Juicy dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather and spice are front and center. I would prefer to drink the 2017 sooner rather than later, while the flavors remain vibrant.
