Aged in wood for a year, this wine is smoothly textured with an accessible freshness and black-currant flavors. Its soft tannins and smoky edge are attractive and lightly spicy. Drink the wine from 2021.

The 2017 Château du Moulin Rouge is a Cru Bourgeois with a floral, violet-tinged bouquet with cassis and blackberry fruit, but overall the aromatics come across as a little smudged compared to its peers. The palate is sweet with a core of red cherry and strawberry fruit tinged with soy, but missing a little tension and certainly in need of more grip and structured on the easygoing, mocha-tinged finish. For early drinking only.
