Santi Valpolicella Superiore Ventale 2016
The Santi 2016 Valpolicella Superiore Ventale is an entry-level blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Corvinone and 10% Rondinella. The grapes are fermented in oak casks and aged in tonneaux for 14 months. Some 70% of the wood comes from chestnut trees and the rest is cherry wood. Those exotic woods add to the spice and fragrance of a bouquet that is otherwise dominated by cherry and red currant. With 35,000 bottles made and an economical price, this simple but spicy wine is perfect for pizza night.
