Domaine-Labruyère Coeur de Terroirs Moulin-a-Vent Vieilles Vignes 2015
|Region||France, Beaujolais, Moulin á Vent|
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Moulin A Vent Coeur de Terroir was matured 50% in vat and 50% in barrel, including a small proportion of whole bunch fruit (between 5% and 8%) that underwent carbonic maceration. The nose offers succulent dark cherries and freshly picked blueberry, an underlying minuteness surfacing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, sweet and quite plush with a touch of Asian spice and hint of white pepper towards the finish. Though it lacks the harmony and finesse of the Le Carquelin or Clos du Moulin, this Moulin-à-Vent has plenty of substance, a "stocky" wine whose edges should be shaved off during its barrel maturation. Drink Date: 2018-2027.
Wine SpectatorMedium-bodied, with a supple core of red plum and black cherry flavors and mocha aromas. Spice box and smoky details linger into the moderately tannic finish. Drink now through 2022. 2,500 cases made.
