Calera Jensen Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011
|Region||California, Central Coast, Mt. Harlan|
Wine AdvocateBeautifully complex, Jenson's 2011 Pinot Noir Jenson Vineyard offers a lively, fresh feel in its sweet cherry, strawberry, sappy spring flowers and subtle mint-driven bouquet. Medium-bodied, layered and seamless, it's an elegant and silky example of this cuvee to drink over the coming decade or more.
Wine SpectatorThis offers aromas of dried herb and pennyroyal, with a compelling core of dark berry flavors, showing dried currant, cranberry and black licorice notes. Gains depth and length on the finish. Drink now through 2023. 1,025 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastBone dry, tart in acidity and seemingly simple, this is the most expensive of Calera's five new Pinot Noirs. It's not showing well now, with tight, mouthwatering cranberry, rosehip tea and tobacco flavors. It feels elegant and silky in the mouth. Give until 2020 in the cellar.
