|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
Wine EnthusiastAromas of underbrush, hazelnut, leather and culinary spice lead the way. The linear medium-bodied palate offers Marasca cherry, orange zest, ground clove and crushed herb alongside polished tannins and bright acidity. Drink 2020-2026.
Wine AdvocateThe Caprili 2014 Brunello di Montalcino (with 19,000 bottles made) offers a dark and tarry bouquet with hints of petroleum and toasted espresso bean. The quality of the aromas is dark, savory and penetrating. In the mouth, however, this Brunello offers a mid-weight style and compact finish. In this 2014 vintage, you get a lot of those tar and licorice notes and little primary fruit.
Wine SpectatorThis is supple, offering muddled cherry, earth and leafy tobacco notes. Balanced on the firm side, with a hint of leather and almond on the finish. Drink now through 2030. 1,455 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.
