La Posta Tinto Red Blend 2017
Wine EnthusiastEarthy plum and berry aromas include a fair amount of oak and tobacco, while this blend of Malbec, Bonarda and Syrah feels plump, with cutting tomato-like acidity and rubbing tannins. Wood-spice, pepper and baked plum flavors finish with mild black-fruit notes and stronger hints of clove and baking spices.
Wine AdvocateI tasted two vintages of most of the reds and was able to compare the character of the two years. Such was the case with the 2017 Tinto, a blend of 60% Malbec and 20% each Bonarda and Syrah, which I was able to see next to the 2016. This has more juicy fruit and a rounder palate, with some of the earthy character still there but in the background. Better with food. 48,000 bottles produced.
