Bott-Geyl Les Elements Riesling 2014
Soft notions of apple blossom suggest a light touch. The palate comes in with earthy confidence and fluid harmony of pear, orange and mandarin. There is a directness in the concentration of this wine with its pleasant dryness garlanded in ripe, fresh fruit. It finishes clean.
This elegant white is finely knit and lacy, with mouthwatering acidity and tangy minerality layered with peach skin, juicy tangerine, honeysuckle and ground ginger notes. Bright and expressive on the finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,270 cases made.
Bright pale golden-yellow. Botanical herbs and honeyed nuances on the showy nose. Then fresh and juicy; high, vibrant acidity gives an austere mouthfeel. Finishes long and bright, with a citrusy slant. Classically dry Riesling but currently hard as nails; better with food. From grapes grown around Zellenberg, Riquewihr and Ribeauvillé.
Sourced in vineyards belonging to Riquewihr, Zellenberg and Ribeauvillé, the 2014 Riesling Les Éléments opens with a clear, ripe and concentrated stone fruit bouquet with some raisin and botrytis aromas. Round and mouth-filling on the palate, this is a nicely stimulating and slightly salty Riesling with a good tannin structure that lend this Riesling a nicely clear and dry finish.
