Lastly, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Vignobles De La Serrière checks in as 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre. It has a classic, complex nose of ripe red and black fruits, peppery garrigue, and savory, sandalwood-like notes to go with medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It's balanced, has ripe tannins, and the perfumed, sunny, complex, and already approachable style of the vintage.

Matured for 18 months in 70% used barrels and the rest in stainless steel, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape Vignobles de la Serriere exhales a deep, closed bouquet of licorice, spices, garrigue and thyme. Medium to full-bodied, dense and enrobing, it's framed by assertive tannins, a structured, concentrated mid-palate and a long, slightly dry finish. It's a blend of 75% Grenache Noir, 20% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre.

The 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Vignobles de la Serriere cannot match the Reserve or the Hommage a Odette Bernard from the same vintage. Although showing delicate red fruits and some spiciness, overly astringent tannins take away some of the fun to taste this today. While the freshness is well captured, the finish ends rather abruptly.
