For the first time since The Lion has been made, it's all Cabernet Sauvignon, from selected blocks on the winery's Mount Veeder estate. On the nose, the 2022 Hess Collection Cabernet Sauvignon The Lion is almost floral, with herbal notions of mint, thyme and sage all accenting cherries and cassis. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and softly velvety on the mid-palate, before easing into a long finish, framed by softly dusty tannins.
