E. Guigal Côtes du Rhône Rosé 2020
|Region||France, Rhone, Cotes du Rhone|
Raspberry and bramble notes are delicate on the nose but intensify on the palate of this juicy, watermelon-kissed wine. A deep salmon-pink in color, it's a full-bodied but refreshing dry wine that finishes on a lingering note of sour-cherry pastille.
Vivid onion skin color. High-pitched red berry and floral aromas show fine definition and a hint of spiciness. Bright, sappy and focused in the mouth, offering juicy raspberry, blood orange and bitter cherry flavors that deepen through the back half. Finishes with firm, spicy cut and energetic lift, leaving a repeating red berry note behind.
Guigal's 2020 Cotes du Rhone Rose is a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Cinsault and 10% Syrah. Pale flamingo-pink in. hue, with just the faintest shadings of copper, it's medium to full-bodied, delivering notes of strawberry, cherry, peach and melon. While it doesn't show much complexity beyond the fruity nuances, it's a pleasing, fleshy wine that still provides a good deal of refreshment on the mouthwatering finish.
Juicy and direct, with a mix of peach and white cherry notes. The rounded, flattering finish has a late stony echo to keep it honest. Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. Drink now. 30,000 cases made, 15,000 cases imported.
