The 2011 Alvarinho is rather nicely done considering that Douro (technically, Duriense regional appellation) Alvarinho is not often found. This is rather solid and persistent, with traces of lime and lemon on the finish and a slight streak of green as well. Very crisp, the acidity launches the fruit into the palate nicely. This should be beautiful this summer. Be conservative in holding it, but I would bet it will evolve a bit better than I first suspected. Tasting it right at this moment, in December, 2012, I would say it was not quite ready and would drink better this coming summer. Drink now-2014.

Medium-bodied, with rich, flowery flavors of mango, ripe citrus and pineapple. The buttery finish features basil and spice notes. Drink now. 3,000 cases made.

The historic Port house of Delaforce has now launched its own Douro table wines, and this Alvarinho is soft and fruity. It has a creamy initial texture followed by touches of vanilla and quince. This is not for aging, so drink it now.
