The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is youthfully coy, wafting up with a pretty blend of dried strawberries, rose petals and fresh mint. It flows easily across the palate, lifted and spry, showcasing tart red and blue fruits as tactile mineral tones form toward the close. The 2019 finishes perfumed and long, with a staining of blackberry and sage as edgy tannins resonate. Patience will be required.

Pouring a deep ruby/red color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino reveals a musky profile in the glass that's hard to pin down, with aromas of dried sour black cherries, pine needles, dried flowers, and turned earth. Blocky and full-bodied in structure, it's grounding and rich in texture, with its earthy profile taking hold almost right away. I wouldn't expect its tannins to soften much, so I'd recommend drinking this sooner rather than later.
