The 2022 Brouilly Clos de La Chaize, the first vintage to be certified organic, is showing nicely, presenting aromas of red and black cherries, elderberries and lilac with complementary tones of dried sage and underbrush. The palate is lush with velvety concentrations of dark and dried fruit, highlighting the ripeness of the vintage while remaining poised, with polished tannins and a line of ripe acidity for grounding. - Kenna Wells

The 2022 Brouilly La Chaize has one of the better aromatics from Château de la Chaize with pretty raspberry, blackcurrant and light touches of patisserie. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins and well-judged acidity. The feeling is far more natural and refined than some of this producer's other cuvees. Drink over 4-5 years.
