At Rancho Zabaco, we craft our Zinfandel wines to showcase the decadent flavor characteristics of some of Sonoma County's most sought after vineyards. We take great care in the winery to achieve a house style that is rich and ripe in the glass. We carefully select grapes from renowned vineyards in Sonoma County, namely from the revered Dry Creek Valley and the rich, red volcanic soils of Monte Rosso Vineyard in Sonoma Valley. These grapes allow us to craft bold, sophisticated wines that are flavorful expressions of their unique Sonoma County vineyards.

Wine AdvocateThis is an outstanding value in Zinfandel. Sourced from some of the Gallo family's better blocks of Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, the 2014 Zinfandel is a blend of 93% Zinfandel and 7% Petite Sirah and is a large cuvée of 3,000 cases that offers terrific quality for its price point. It's a big wine at 14.8% alcohol, dark ruby/purple in color, with notes of plums, briary blue and black fruits, some pepper, meat and roasted herbs. It is meant to be drunk upon release, but should certainly age decently for several years.

Wine EnthusiastExtracted in dark blackberry and leather, there's a soft structure that makes this affordable wine work, leaving room for the peppercorn and dried herb so beloved in the variety.
