Auguste Bonhomme La Forcine Vouvray88 Points - Wine Spectator Vouvray is a French region of the Loire valley located along the right bank of the Loire river east of the city of Tours.The dominant and nearly exclusive grape of vouvray is Chenin Blanc grape,known locally as ‘Pineau de la Loire’.It is believed that it have originated in the Anjou wine region sometime in the 9th century and from there eventually migrated to Vouvray. SOIL: The vineyards are located on the East of Tours, on the 7 towns from the right bank of the river. The soil is composed of sand, gravel, clay and flint. The subsoil is composed of yellow chalk. CLIMATE: The 1,800 hectares which composed the Vouvray vineyard cover the soft slopes which come down to the Loire and the numerous valleys which furrow the table land. HARVEST: Mechanical grape harvest in light overmaturity . Slow fermentation into cellars made of 'tuffeau', a particular chalky soil from this region. The fermentation is stopped by cooler. This medium dry Vouvray ages very well and accompanies fish cooked in sauce and delicatessen. Serve at 52 degrees.

Cartuxa Evora Branco (White)Cartuxa White is a blend of Antão Vaz and Arinto planted in the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida Vineyards. When the grapes reach the right point of maturation they are carefully picked, de-stalked and gently crushed. Fermentation is in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 16ºC and the wine matures on the lees nine months with batonage.
