Sans Liege The Offering Red 2016When you arrive the celebration is raging, much like the huge bonfire in the center of the crowd. You are met with scents of anise, mulling spices, kirsch and leather. A friend claps you on the back and hands you a bowl crafted from juniper proclaiming “wassail!” “Drink hail” you chorus with the rest of the group, taking a gulp and passing it on. Treats of olive tapenade and plums with cinnamon are shared as the merriment continues into the night.
Sans Liege Groundwork Mourvedre 2017Groundwork is all about the fundamentals. Putting to use the empirical knowledge he has gained from making wine for his first label, Sans Liege Wines, Curt Schalchlin seeks to bring his experience to a new set of wines that embrace the soul and simple living of the Rhône Groundwork is built upon Curt's comfort and confidence as a winemaker, instructing him to trust in the fruit, the vineyards, and his own rich experience as guides. A blackberry, juniper, espresso bean, pomegranate juice, cedar wood, deep red roses, dark chocolate covered orange candy.
Bogle Cabernet SauvignonDeeply extracted cherry and bright cassis arrest the senses, holding captive on both the nose and the palate. Swiftly followed by red currant jam and black pepper, the supple mouthfeel fills out this full-bodied wine. Toasty coconut and spicy oak from the American oak heightens the dense fruit, and the wine finishes with stellar tannins softened by just a hint sweet pipe tobacco. A few of our favorite pairings: • Rib-eye Steak with Blue Cheese Butter • Roasted Eggplant with Provolone Cheese • Dark Chocolate Mousse with Fresh Berries
Columbia Crest Grand Estates Merlot 2015This Merlot has a rich aromatic profile with notes of chocolate and dark cherries. The complex fruit flavors are followed by a smooth, velvety finish. Pair this wine with blue cheese, duck, beef, veal and dark chocolate.
Altos las Hormigas Malbec 2017This vintage of our Malbec Clásico is fully representative of Altos Las Hormigas style, as the joyful and fresh expression of Mendoza Malbec. Displaying a bright ruby red color, this wine has a fruity nose of plums and raspberries complemented with herbal notes. The first palate shows supple tannins with a balanced acidity that is the secret of its freshness. Notes of crisp red fruits fill the mouth, with a soft texture and a long finish. This is a pleasant wine, ideal to pair with various dishes, from red meats to pasta or grilled vegetables.
Oyster Bay Pinot Noir 2015
Broadbent Malbec 2009 1LArgentina has near perfect conditions for the cultivation of grapes. Hot days allow for fully ripened grapes and cool nights provide complexity. Desert-like conditions mean the vineyards are typically healthy and need minimal intervention - most of Argentina has never been touched by Phyloxera. Rainfalls of 200mm (8inches) per year mean that irrigation is important. An elaborate canal system, dating back to the Pre-Colombian Incan Empire, distributes mountain spring water from the Andes to the many vineyards of Mendoza. Soils are mostly alluvial clay, sand and rock, low in organic material, which help naturally control vine vigor and yield and provides excellent drainage. The location of Mendoza in the high altitude Andean foothills with vineyards averaging between 3,000 and 5,000 feet above sea level is an important part of what makes this region unique.
