Le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino 2003
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
The 2003 Brunello di Montalcino is fresh, vibrant and perfumed in its expression of violets, black cherries, licorice and spices. Medium in body, it offers outstanding balance and well-integrated tannins in a poised style that shows notable clarity and precision. I would have never guessed this to be a 2003 had I not known the vintage beforehand. This classically built Brunello was aged in casks of various sizes. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2015.
Pretty aromas of cherry and fresh flowers lead to a full-bodied palate, with lightly jammy fruit and soft, round tannins. Refined yet generous. Best after 2009.
