This wine is a classic blend of the three most traditional varieties grown in McLaren Vale for more than a century. Our previous experiences in France and Spain encouraged us to plant these varieties with the intention of making a wine that captures all those traditions while giving it a modern edge. Color: dark ruby Nose: dry spices, with hints of Turkish Delight Palate: richer than previous years, with black cherries, licorice and ground pepper.

Wine AdvocateThe 2006 Tipico is a blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Monastrell, and 20% Shiraz aged in seasoned oak for 15 months. Dark ruby-colored, it has an alluring perfume of cedar, tobacco, wild cherry, and blueberry. On the palate it is easygoing, seamless, and already complex. Drink it over the next six years.

Wine EnthusiastThis full-bodied, creamy-textured wine is a bit peppery and herbal but also filled with lush cherry fruit, making for a dynamic, engaging contrast. The slightly dusty, peppery edge to the finish will help it stand up to fattier cuts of beef or lamb.
