Moccagatta bottles 3 Barbarescos from 3 crus of radically different character. The "Bric Balin" is the jewel of the estate. Matured entirely in part-new barrique, it is an elegant, velvety wine with dense red fruits, cocoa and spice. Garnet red color. Nose is fine, complex, fruity, sweet spices, vanilla. Flavor is dry, full-bodied, rich, warm, harmonious, quite tannic, good persistence. Serving suggetions: Red meat, game.

Wine AdvocateThe 2006 Barbaresco Bric Balin reveals lovely clarity and freshness in its succulent red cherries, flowers, minerals and menthol. Here the tannins show a touch more elegance than in the Basarin. The oak is beautifully integrated in this elegant and refined Bric Balin. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024.

Wine SpectatorFascinating aromas of raspberry and Christmas pudding, with dried dark fruits. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a rich palate, showing vanilla, chocolate and berry, with hints of meat. Juicy and beautiful. Best after 2012.
