Blue Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

SKU 07297

It is 92% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Merlot for added texture and complexity. It is a richer and more overtly fruity Cabernet than the more reserved 2007 and is beautifully approachable now. We strive for a balanced and elegant wine that is food friendly rather than more heavily extracted.

Wine EnthusiastTastes like ripeness ran away with this wine. The blackberry flavors are explosive, making it taste like jam, while the oak is very strong, almost overpowering in smoky char. Pretty good, but overworked. Drink soon.

Wine AdvocateThe 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a slightly more opaque ruby color, a more straightforward nose of red and black currants without the floral notes or complexity of the Baby Blue. It is medium-bodied, a bit short, compact, but very pleasant and well-made.
