Les Halos de Jupiter Châteauneuf du Pape 2009
|Region||France, Rhone, Chateauneuf-du-Pape|
|Brand||Les Halos de Jupiter|
Wine SpectatorThis is densely packed and sports a good old-school edge, with aromatic bittersweet cocoa, chestnut and roasted mesquite notes giving way to pure blackberry and cassis fruit, which glides effortlessly through the silky finish. A hedonistic wine with serious definition. Best from 2012 through 2023. 320 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape is a smaller cuvee (150 cases) produced from over 100-year-old Grenache vines located in La Crau (it has a darker label without the word -Biodynamie- included). Exhibiting attractive finesse and elegance as well as a Burgundian-like style, it offers up aromas of forest floor, red and black currants, sweet cherries, camphor and loamy soil. This full-bodied Chateauneuf should drink well for 10-15 years.
