Buehler Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013The wine is brimming with fruit aromas and flavors biased to the black fruit end of the Cabernet spectrum: plums, blackberry, and black currant. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, this Cabernet drinks well on release but will soften and develop with additional age. If you prefer the less fruity, more developed bottle bouquet aromas and a softer, more velvety wine on the palate, drink it from 2020-2030.

Bernard Tornay Brut Carte d'OrThis non-vintage is round and elegant, with fine bubbles. It can be equally enjoyed as an aperitif or to accompany a meal. Hutasse shares the perspective of a large maison in that he places great importance on being able to reproduce a house style year after year. To that end he keeps enormous stocks of reserve still wines. The Carte d'Or is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, but includes reserves from the communes of Bouzy, Ambonnay, Trépail, Bisseuil, Tauxières, Les Riceys, Vertus, Mareuil and Epernay. The still reserve wine undergoes a malolactic fermentation, for greater roundness. This Brut Non-Vintage is an assemblage of 70% wine from the most recent harvest and 30% reserve wines which are a minimum of four years old. It is kept sur lattes for up to three years, enhancing its richness, compared to the mandated one year for a non-vintage cuvée. The bottles are cellared for an additional six months in order to integrate the liqueur d'expédition. Dosage: 9g/l.
Byron Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2013The Santa Maria Valley is located on an unusual topographic slice of land known as a transverse range. Unlike the majority of California's wine producing valleys, the orientation is east to west rather than north to south. As a consequence, an unprecedented amount of marine air and accompanying fog is pulled into the vineyards from the nearby Pacific Ocean. The unimpeded flow of cold air from the Pacific Ocean makes our appellation unique.
