Located in the heart of the Loire Valley, Domaine Pascal Pibaleau is a biodynamic winery that manages 15 hectares of vineyards in the Azay-le-Rideau appellation. Located half-way between Chinon and Tours, the Domaine's vineyards consists of siliceous soils. From a long line of vignerons who established the Domaine in 1886, Pascal Pibaleau insists upon utilizing organic farming techniques to express the true terroir of the land, while also preserving the natural balance of life on his family's vineyards. By controlling the vigor of their vines, the Domaine hand-harvests grapes of optimal health and maturity. Planted in clay and limestone soil, the vines see neither chemical fertilizers nor pesticides in the vineyard. Grass grows between vines to keep the weeds at bay, while encouraging the vines to struggle, digging deep into the earth with their roots.
