J. Lohr Hilltop Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
|Region||California, Central Coast, Paso Robles|
This reliable bottling offers fudge, caramel, black cherry and oak on the ripe nose. Cola and sarsparilla meet with black-cherry foam on the palate, where creamy tannins and just enough acidity carry into the finish.
Deep brilliant violet. Pungent aromas of cassis, black cherry, licorice, toasty oak and tobacco. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavors that deepen slowly with air. Finishes chewy and taut, with gently gripping tannins and a touch of dark chocolate.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Hilltop Cabernet (95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, and 1% Malbec) reveals a saturated purple color to go with a perfumed bouquet of crème de cassis, chocolaty oak, leafy herbs, and earth. It's another ripe, powerful, medium to full-bodied, mouth-filling wine from this estate to drink over the coming decade or more.
