Wild rose, red berry, dark spice and Mediterranean brush aromas come together to create a delicate, alluring fragrance. Made with fruit from young vines in the Contrada Pietrarizzo, the 2016 Etna Rosso Pietrarizzo is a pure expression of Nerello Mascalese that is fermented in cement vats and later aged in oak barrel for 12 months. Some 23,000 bottles were made. The bouquet offers wild fruit and hints of crushed white pepper. The bouquet is simple and forthcoming. You get a hint of steeped-tea astringency on the close.
