Poggio Salvi Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2011
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino|
Intense ruby red with garnet tones. Ample and complex on the nose, with notes of cherries, sweet tobacco, licorice, chocolate and coffee. Sapid, full with a distinct freshness, well structured, evolving tannins. Match with red roasted meat, seasoned cheese, and truffles.
Mature plum, ripe berry, baking spice, underbrush and a balsamic note are some of the aromas you'll find on this full-bodied wine. On the chewy palate, notes of cinnamon, clove and licorice add depth to dried cherry and raspberry. Velvety tannins give it just enough tension and texture. Drink 2018-2024.
A taut, sinewy style, with cherry, leather, iron and earth notes etched onto assertive, chalky tannins. The finish is compact and moderately astringent. Best from 2019 through 2029. 166 cases made.
