Chateau-Routas Coteaux Varois Rose 2020
|Region||France, Provence, Coteaux Varois|
With plenty of red-currant and crisp wild-strawberry flavors, this wine is fruity and bright. It has some concentration and plenty of freshness at the end. Drink now.
This rosé has an engaging acidity that binds together the fresh melon, grapefruit and tangerine flavors, underpinned with herb, floral and spice details. Shows nice focus and energy. Drink now. 20,000 cases made, 15,000 cases imported.
A blend of 46% Cinsault, 30% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2020 Coteaux Varois en Provence Rose is an extremely pale, coppery rosé. Invoking scents of crushed stone and dried herbs on the nose, it adds melon and stone fruit on the medium-bodied palate, then finishes dry, spicy and silky. It's a solid effort and a decent value, just don't expect to find a lot of red berry flavors this year.
