This vineyard seems to be hitting its stride with another delicious Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is wide open with ripe fruit aromas of blackberry, cherry, and dark chocolate. Explosive flavors in the mouth of beautiful ripe fruit similar to the aromas, a rich lush mouth feel and amazing length. Very silky yet powerful. Tannins are imperceptible yet this wine has backbone and tons of fruit character that will lend itself well during aging.

There's a spicy quality to the aroma of this polished Cab, with suggestions of dill, sage, crushed autumn leaves and even Provençal lavender and thyme. It's a unique interpretation of Napa and must come from the vineyard's terroir. In the mouth, notes of herbs and tobacco lead to more savory sweet cherry, currant and vanilla oak flavors. This interesting, even dramatic Cab should develop over the next decade.

Aromas of fresh herb, sage and dusty berry fold into the ripe currant and cherry fruit. Has excellent structure, depth, balance and proportion, and the finish is long and persistent, ending with a nice mineral edge. Best from 2008 through 2014.

The gorgeous 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon from Revana is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. It exhibits a complex nose of forest floor, black cherries, and black currants, with hints of cedar wood and spice box. In the mouth it is elegant, with sweet tannins, terrific fruit, and purity, as well as a layered, opulent mouthfeel and a beautiful, long finish of a good 40+ seconds. This wine is already exhibiting complexity and early drinkability, but has the balance and requisite depth to age well for 10-15 years.
